Job Summary:

This role involves working as part of the APAC Finance team where you will be reporting to the AVP, APAC Finance to support Allied World Australia Branch operation. The responsibility of this role ensures finance operation and reporting function follow the Group reporting requirements.

Job Duties:

\xc2\xb7 Ensure incoming receipts are applied timely and accurately in the systems.
\xc2\xb7 Work with Credit Control, Account Managers and external customers to resolve disputes to get unallocated receipts to an acceptable level.
\xc2\xb7 Responsible for monthly updating and reconciling of cash book.
\xc2\xb7 Prepare/review month-end closing activities in relation to Group reporting.
\xc2\xb7 Support balance sheet reconciliations and ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
\xc2\xb7 Handle queries or requirements from other business functions, management and auditors
\xc2\xb7 Assist AVP, Finance closely in driving forward enhancements and process improvements to ensure the effective and efficient control - provide inputs for continuous improvement, also look for opportunities to streamline and enhance the same processes by way of possible automation.
\xc2\xb7 Support AVP, Finance and other business functions through providing finance-related input to help with decision making, including internal/external audits and the preparation and review of all reporting requirements.
\xc2\xb7 Collaborate with various stakeholders to discuss and resolve issues.
\xc2\xb7 Undertake projects on an ad-hoc basis to ensure necessary finance-related requirements are met.

Essential Requirements:

\xc2\xb7 Degree in Accountancy or Finance. US GAAP experience preferred
\xc2\xb7 3-5 years experience in the Insurance industry, preferably non-life insurance
\xc2\xb7 Excellent knowledge of accounting rules and regulatory requirements
\xc2\xb7 Ability to be hands-on, to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
\xc2\xb7 Excellent PC skills with a good working knowledge of Excel
\xc2\xb7 Good communication/interpersonal skills and detail orientated
\xc2\xb7 Keen awareness of latest financial accounting environment and insurance regulations and able to analyze the impact of these changes to the organization
