Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre is looking for a Assistant Finance Manager who is able to perform a variety of routine accounting duties to ensure correct reporting of revenues and costs, and/or timely receipt of monies owed to the hotel. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Reviews and ensures that all accounting processes are reviewed and in accordance to IHG\xe2\x80\x99s CSA guidelines
  • To oversee operational finance sections (ie: Cost Control, Income Audit, Credit and Accounts Receivables)
  • Assists with daily auditing and processing of Officer\xe2\x80\x99s Check and Entertainment Checks from F&B for Director of Finance & Business Support and General Manager\xe2\x80\x99s review on a timely basis
  • Facilitates food and beverage cost control for overall hotel operations to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Drives food costs and supporting Kitchens with ensure recipes are in place prior to selling period
  • Reviews and support with POS maintenance for addition or deletion of keys
  • Review and support with daily revenue reports or journals from Income Audit
  • Review and analyze/ investigate cashiers\xe2\x80\x99 over and shortages
  • Review travel agency commission prior to payments
  • Review and drive lower credit card commissions via DCC from Front Office
  • Review and prepare input in the general ledger from various sources
  • Review food and beverage control reconciliations and journal
  • Review accounts payable/ purchasing interface
  • Prepares relevant month end journals
  • Prepares monthly Financial Statements for distribution to Department Heads and Executives, as directed by Assistant Financial Controller
  • Approves various city ledger transactions before posting
  • Prepares asset purchase/disposal report for owners
  • Assists in budget preparation and input, forecast reports and monthly reporting to corporate finance and owning company.
  • Assists with any other ad-hoc finance duties
What We Need From You Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or Diploma in Accounting & Finance or related field with 3 years in hotel accounting or auditing experience or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience. Required Skills:
    • Demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities.
  • Good writing skills
  • Experience in working internationally and cross- culturally in the hospitality industry
  • Able to quickly and accurately assess the scope of implementation of proposed innovation and keeping in with the current trends and innovation in the industry
  • Extensive and credible appreciation of brands
  • Enquiring mind with an understanding of innovation and guest experience and the challenges involved in implementing successful change within the hotel operation
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal communication skills. Able to network and influence peers and senior management with credible and compelling arguments
  • Must be challenging, diplomatic and able to work across all levels of the organization
  • A good \xe2\x80\x98real world\xe2\x80\x99 sensibility when applying strategic solutions
  • High level of capability and credibility in influencing colleagues across functions
  • High degree of personal drive, self-starter and able to work independently without regular direct management
  • Able to apply creative methodologies and thinking to the tasks
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; articulate, persuasive & influential; systematic and timely
