The Opportunity
The Assistant Fund Accountant reports to VP and provides fund administration services to a portfolio of funds, mainly hedge funds.
Primary responsibilities include:
Fund Accounting Work
Assisting the Fund Accountant (FA), Senior Fund Accountant (SFA), AVP, VP or SVP with the setting up of new funds and on-going matters in a timely manner;
Assisting the FA, SFA, AVP, VP or SVP with the obtaining of necessary compliance information for approval;
Assisting the FA, SFA, AVP, VP or SVP to ensure the proprietary database is completed with accurate data by the take-on point of the client;
Updating the database as relevant events occur (change in directors, change in service providers);
Assisting the FA, SFA, AVP, VP or SVP with transactional accounting and preparing low complexity NAV packages in accordance with MaplesFS policies and procedures;
Assisting in a large volume of routine and straight forward transactions including data input of standard journal entries in the accounting system
Acquire and develop a mastery of the systems used for client and internal reporting.
Liaise with auditors and coordinate with clients to ensure the smooth completion of the year-end audit.
Coordinate with various teams within the Maples organization to ensure client queries and deliverables are completed in a timely manner.
Acquire an understanding and application of The Maples Group's relevant organizational controls and operational procedures.
Assisting with raising and sending invoices to clients in a timely manner and in accordance with administration agreements
