Job Description


The MedTech Catapult Programme Office is a new initiative at A*STAR, Singapore and is responsible for providing a focal control point for the development and integration of MedTech capabilities whilst fostering MedTech community across A*STAR. The MedTech Catapult also has a dedicated objective of curating and accelerating the development of high potential MedTech projects through an in-house product engineering unit. The Assistant Head will report to the Deputy Programme Director.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the PD and DPD in operationalizing the MedTech Catapult relating to internal operations by working closely with Finance (programme budget), HR (manpower requirements and onboarding), procurement (partnerships, advisors, consultants) and OSFA (office and engineering space).
  • Oversee project governance and oversight by maintaining a dashboard of all health and medtech projects in A*STAR from TRL 2 ? 8 by working closely with councils, I&E and research performers for quarterly updates.
  • Support the management and administration of internal funding schemes i.e. Kickstarter fund and BEP (Bioengineering Programme Grant) by interfacing with corporate functions, HQ and research performers. This includes the management of existing 18 BEP Projects folded from HMT HTCO (including progress reviews, project monitoring and closures) and reporting to PD and Research Office on progress and KPIs.
  • Ensure adherence of project teams towards policies and processes of funding schemes
  • Establish channels of communication and organize project reviews to support project life cycle management
  • Ensure healthy budget commitment and utilisation of project funding schemes and programme office budget
  • Carry out tracking of Programme Office deliverables, especially in assessing outcomes and impact of awarded projects
  • Organising and managing events, such as facilitating CoPs, visits and tours.
  • Working closely with procurement to determine procurement approach for purchases by PO and submit documents required for tenders, service agreements etc.
  • To support other operational activities for the Programme Office
Requirements

  • B.S in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Design, Bioengineering or other relevant experience in a related field.
  • More than 3y of working experience in either industry, research, grant administration, strategic/corporate planning or any other relevant roles
  • Familiarity with ISO13485 and medical device development cycle is a plus
  • Possess excellent networking, communication and writing skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to juggle priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Enjoy working in a small team, start-up environment
