Job Description


Reporting to the Director, Catering & Events, the incumbent will be responsible for managing catering sales and event, ensuring they are in line with the annual sales and marketing plan, and achieving/exceeding budget in the execution of sales strategy of the hotel.

Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for all daily incoming mails/correspondence in the Catering & Events Sales section.
  • Prepare reports, letters, memo or fax documents as assigned, and maintain an effective filing system.
  • Attend to phone enquiries and assist residents/patrons with the necessary information with regards to Catering & Events.
  • Update all confirmed events and usage of function rooms as penned and scheduled in the system.
  • Prepare and distribute event orders on a daily and bi-weekly basis.
  • Send out brochures and promotional articles to residents and patrons in a timely fashion.
  • Monitor the stock level of the Sales Press kit, collaterals, invitation cards, name tent cards etc, and ensure that there are sufficient stocks in the store.
  • Update all electronic signage and prepare all directional signage on a daily basis.
  • Meet sales targets and provide the highest level of customer service.
  • Be responsible for sales and costs to ensure maximum results.
  • Participate and come up with innovative ideas to increase sales.
  • Build and maintain relations with residents and patrons, and ensure a high level of satisfaction.
  • Service existing residents and patrons and develop new market territories.
  • Conduct site inspections and handle sales enquiries.
  • Conduct and/or attend daily meeting to review event contracts to ensure last minute changes are communicated accordingly.
  • Conduct pre-conference meetings to ensure key business units are fully aware of the relevant details pertaining to group.
  • Promote awareness of brand image through promotions and cross selling.
  • Generate sales for weddings and all social related events.
  • Perform post-event follow-up to address any issues whilst soliciting return business.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with the established policies to achieve the overall objectives of the position.
  • Maintain the highest standard of professionalism, ethics, and attitude.
  • Maintain professional business confidentiality.
  • Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Diploma in Business Administration/Hotel Management/Marketing, or its equivalent professional certification.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant working experience from a luxury Hotel environment, with proven sales track records.
  • Driven and self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and public relations skills.
