Job Description


Innovation Support Services



The position will report to the Senior Learning Innovation Advocate under the Innovation Centre (IC) at Institute for Adult Learning (IAL). It supports the knowledge creation and evaluation / impact measurement of the Innovation Centre related to learning innovation in Singapore.

He/she leads the conceptualization and execution of fact-finding related projects such as the state of learning innovation activities in the sector, intervention and programme evaluation, including impact measurement activities such as collection and analysis of post-event data, and other relevant information and data related projects.

He/she will also be responsible for content creation for the iN.LAB microsite in the form of horizon scanning, trend monitoring, articles or case studies.

He/she will use his/her knowledge to organize roundtables and contribute to theme development for the innovSeries. Key activities related to these responsibilities include:

  • Lead the design, development and implementation of specific projects including:
  • Conceptualize and develop project proposal;
  • Prepare and plan project logistics, schedule and activities.
  • Review, collate and analyze literature and findings to inform project design;
  • Design data collection instruments;
  • Propose the different techniques appropriate at different stages of the project;
  • Data gathering, processing and cleaning in preparation for data mining and analysis;
  • Analysis and writing in required formats (reports, papers, articles); and
  • Manages the bibliographies and literature review of the reports.
  • Plan and conduct engagement activities with the team and stakeholders to support the intended outcomes of the project.
Manage and maintain the data bases as required.

Write up and report on project activities as required. * Participate in the evaluation of tenders for approved IC projects.

Plan, manage and implement events including roundtables, seminars, visiting speaker engagements, focus groups and activities related to approved projects.

Collaborate on other relevant projects (e.g. with Research Division) including conceptualization, scoping, designing, collecting data, analysis, and dissemination.

Write and produce papers and publications to inform IAL\'s innovation activities and efforts and inform the community of the trends and developments in learning innovation.

Contribute to evaluation efforts of IAL\'s initiatives and efforts in learning innovation.

Perform other duties as required.

Job Requirements
  • A degree in the humanities/ arts and social sciences. Preference will be given to candidates with a graduate research degree.
At least 5 years of work experience, preferably in the relevant research or policy areas, such as research experience related to any or combinations of learning and development, adult education, learning and performance, work and learning and/or working experience that requires consideration of these issues.

Sound analytical skills and a strong interest in development as a researcher in the field of adult and continuing education and learning innovation.

Good report writing, communication, administrative and project management skills.

Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.

The successful appointee will be based in IAL Campus located at Lifelong Learning Institute at Paya Lebar.
