Job Purpose

You will be handling insurance claims assessment under the travel, health and personal accident plans. You will also be given the opportunity to be part of an exciting team with involvement in service excellence initiatives and projects to improve the claims experience.

The Job

• Determine policy coverage, establish proof of loss with proper documentation and provide accurate and timely assessment of claims within the required service standards
• Collect accurate information and documents to proceed with a claim
• Handle claim appeals and investigation and get advice from external specialists such as loss adjustors on complex cases
• Get involved in loss adjusting activities and legal discussions relating to settlement
• Assist supervisor on medical evacuation cases
• Deliver excellent service and enhance customer and distribution channels relationship management
• Review claims processes and participate in process improvement projects, initiatives and system enhancement for the department, including establish claims best practices
• Guide and train a team of claims handlers
• Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory and legal matter
• Any other ad-hoc projects assigned by supervisor
• Take accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and take appropriate steps to mitigate the risks
• Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company
• Highlight any potential concerns/ risks and proactively share best risk management practices

Qualifications

Our Requirements

• Diploma or Degree or Professional Insurance Certificate with at least 3 years of relevant accident and health claims experience
• Good medical knowledge and ability to explain medical conditions in insurance context
• Customer-centric and meticulous with the ability to work under pressure
• Strong analytical, written and communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all stakeholders
• Good business acumen with long term vision
• A team player
• High level of integrity, take accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork
• Take initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes
