[What the role is]

We are looking for Assistant Manager / Manager, Financial Accounting, in the Finance and Asset Development cluster.

[What you will be working on]

  • Oversee the financial accounting activities of MUIS, including general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliation, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Develop and implement robust accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, adhering to relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements related to financial reporting, tax filings, and other financial matters.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process, providing necessary documentation and addressing audit findings and recommendations.
  • Stay updated on accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements applicable to the Islamic religious sector in Singapore including sustainability accounting and environmental stewardships.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management, assisting in decision-making, resource allocation, and strategic planning.
  • Evaluate and review financial sustainability for the Group and handle Investment and Treasury policies and strategies for the Group.
  • Contribute to a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and continuous improvement. In leveraging technology to streamline financial processes.
  • Explore emerging technologies for increased and efficiency in financial reporting.
[What we are looking for]
  • Tertiary education in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in financial accounting (at least 2 years), preferably in a similar role within the Islamic religious sector or non-profit organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements in Singapore.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in external/internal audit or finance (highly desirable).
  • Understanding of the principles and practices of Islam, as well as a strong commitment to supporting the mission and objectives of MUIS.
  • Leadership capabilities, with experience in managing and developing a team of accounting professionals.
  • Proficient in MS office applications, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with a high level of integrity and ethical conduct.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Successful candidate will be appointed on contract basis.
