Job Description


What the role is:The National Arts Council seeks an experienced Manager to work in its Visual Arts Division to enable the growth and development of the Singapore Visual Arts Sector through the formulation of policies, strategies, and grants administration. The Manager will be engaging with partners, stakeholders and grant applicants for a range of evaluation of funding proposals and ensuring good governance and adherence to funding conditions for funded projects. The Manager will provide support to some of the Division's initiatives with the Public Art Masterplan and Projects from FY2024 to FY2027.[What you will be working on]Public Art Masterplan and implementation projects:Manage and work with the appointed consultant to ensure smooth running of the development and deliverables of the Public Art Masterplan, specifically in the areas of research, stakeholder engagement, designing the policies, strategies and implementations for the roadmap of the masterplan.Plan and manage the launch of the Public Art Masterplan, including stakeholder engagements, project management and procurement.Plan and design year-long initiatives to implement the recommendations of the masterplan. The implementation will include:Commissions of public art, including maintenance managementSymposiums, workshops and educational programmes for public artPartnerships for public art initiativesInternational residenciesUpdating the Commissioning Guide Toolkit for Public Art Best Practices to align with the current public art landscapePublic Art Advocacy:Manage requests and feedback on public art best practices and ad-hoc commissioning best practices.Recommend artists to potential commissioners of public art projects[What we are looking for]Good University degree (preferably arts related)Good knowledge of the Singapore Visual arts landscape is highly preferred.Experience in business strategies and development would be an added advantage.Possess strong written communication skills.Proven ability to manage and maintain information management systems and follow procedures to guide work and track progress ensuring team and project goals and priorities are achieved.Proven ability to negotiate, build sustainable relationships and work proactively with people at all levels to achieve project objectives.Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to maintain a professional approach at all times in often demanding and high-pressure situations with a proven ability of working with the community.Proven ability to actively and collaboratively contribute to a high-performing team which delivers outstanding results, and to constantly seek ways to improve own contribution.Proficiency in effectively using online systems as well as Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.Applicants who require work passes need not apply.Interested applicants are to submit resume and one-page write-up on your interest and involvement in the arts.About National Arts Council:The National Arts Council champions the arts in Singapore.
