The Assistant Manager - Social Media will lead GIIS's social media strategy, execution, and storytelling across platforms. The role includes managing organic and paid campaigns, overseeing live event coverage, and collaborating with the creative agency and internal teams to develop high-impact, brand-aligned content that drives awareness, engagement, and leads.
III. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESStrategy & Planning
Develop and implement social media strategies that align with GIIS's marketing objectives, brand identity, and admissions goals.
Build and manage multi-platform content calendars (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, X, etc.).
Identify emerging trends, audience insights, and new formats to strengthen reach and relevance.
Content Creation & Campaign Management
Conceptualise and plan engaging content highlighting student stories, events, and academic milestones through reels, videos, carousels, and stories.
Develop creatives for paid social media campaigns (static, video, carousel, reels) in collaboration with the creative agency to ensure alignment with campaign goals and platform best practices.
Coordinate with the creative agency on visual storytelling, content themes, and digital-first narratives for brand and admissions campaigns.
Execute and manage social media campaigns for key initiatives such as Open Houses, Carnivals, Fairs, and academic promotions.
Ensure all content adheres to brand tone, voice, and visual standards.
Live Coverage & Event Amplification
Lead live coverage of key GIIS events (school celebrations, parent meets, cultural events, etc.) to deliver real-time engagement and visibility.
Collaborate with photographers, videographers, and on-ground teams for seamless social updates.
Capture authentic moments and create post-event recaps and highlight reels to amplify reach.
Analytics & Optimisation
Measure performance across channels using Meta Business Suite and other tools to track engagement, reach, CTR, and conversions.
Optimise campaigns based on performance insights and content trends.
Monitor competitor activity and benchmark GIIS's social performance regularly.
Community Engagement
Engage with the online community through timely responses and interactions, maintaining a consistent and positive brand tone.
Monitor and manage online sentiment, escalating relevant feedback to the marketing or admissions team.
Collaboration & Leadership
Partner closely with internal content, design, and admissions teams to align social messaging with school-wide campaigns.
Work with the creative agency on campaign ideation, performance creatives, influencer content, and paid amplification.
Supervise and guide Social Media Executives or interns, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to campaign goals.
IV. JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
o Minimum 4-6 years of social media marketing experience, preferably in education or consumer brands
.
Proven experience in creative campaign execution, agency coordination, and live event coverage.
Skills & Competencies
Strong creative judgement, storytelling, and visual communication skills.
Proficiency in analytics tools (Meta Suite, Hootsuite, Sprout, Google Analytics).
Good understanding of paid campaign creatives and ad formats.
Organised, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Team player with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
