What the role is: Global cruise lines have resumed its deployments and the global cruise industry is expected to recover and see significant growth within the next few years. Asia Pacific is expected to be at the forefront of this growth. To maintain our position as the leading cruise hub in Southeast Asia, Singapore is keen to capture this projected growth in Asia Pacific. Being the sector lead and champion for the cruise industry, there are many opportunities to be creative and initiate programmes that shape the industry as well as play a key role in transforming the landscape for Singapore. As the work we do to pursue business and grow the cruise industry is critical, fast-paced and dynamic, we are looking for a passionate and motivated individual to be part of our team.

Main responsibilities: You will drive the growth of cruise demand in Southeast Asia (SEA) and Singapore through:

  • Marketing : Marketing of cruise as an attractive tourism product as well as SEA region as an attractive cruising destination by launching new marketing initiatives, development of marketing collaterals, exhibiting at global tradeshows (e.g. Seatrade Cruise Global) and organising familiarisation trips.
  • Channel Development: Collaborate with cruise associations and STB regional offices to develop outreach programmes (e.g. roadshows, workshops, industry trainings, networking sessions) with the aim of increasing awareness and incentivising channels and intermediaries (e.g. travel agents, online travel agents) to promote and sell SEA cruise packages via Cruise Development Fund (CDF).
  • Experience Development: Develop new sailing itineraries and shore excursion experiences with cruise lines and relevant SEA counterparts to add vibrancy to current cruise offerings.

  • Industry Development \xe2\x80\x93 Identifies opportunities where STB can value-add in the holistic development of stakeholders in the cruise industry.
  • Negotiation \xe2\x80\x93 Uses influence skills to obtain positive outcomes and makes decisions that are aligned with the strategic direction of the organisation.
Job requirements:
  • At least 3 years of work experience, preferably in areas of marketing
  • Prior experience in stakeholder and grants management would be an advantage.
  • Good interpersonal and oral communication skills to manage both internal and external stakeholders such as STB\xe2\x80\x99s regional offices, governmental bodies to cruise industry stakeholders (i.e.: cruise lines, associations, travel trade, travel agents)
  • Good project management skills including the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, organised and resourceful to deliver desired outcomes
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and comfortable with figures and data analytics.
  • Have an interest in macro trends and developments relating to the tourism industry and more specifically, cruise industry.
