What the role is:The Strategic Planning (SP) team is looking for a passionate officer to be part of a dynamic team to chart the way forward for the tourism sector. You will be part of a team that will identify opportunities, risks, and formulate mid- to long-term strategies to define the next phase of tourism growth. As custodian of the corporate planning cycle, SP drives the direction and interfaces with internal business units to develop short- to mid-term workplans. SP also develops, reviews and tracks organisational performance to ensure alignment with STB\'s strategic outcomes and importantly, to ensure that sufficient resources are given to STB to achieve our aspirations and goals.What you will be working on:Main Responsibilities:As part of the Strategic Planning team, this role will allow you the opportunity to work on the overall tourism strategy that will help chart the way forward for the sector in a post-COVID operating environment. You will look into trends and uncover new growth opportunities that will shape STB\'s strategies towards the tourism sector. Beyond strategy development, you will leverage data to derive actionable insights to aid the organisation in making strategic data-driven decisions. You will put together workplans and reports to be submitted to MTI and work closely with MTI on announcements for key platforms such as the annual Budget/Committee of Supply.As part of the annual corporate planning cycle, you will organise key meeting platforms for STB business units to formulate their workplans in the year ahead and ensure alignment across teams.Key Relationships:Within STB, you will be able to engage across all business teams and develop a keen understanding of the tourism landscape and its operating environment. You will also work closely with MTI and other government agencies, where you would be able to learn more about the work of other economic agencies and how their work is integrated to further Singapore\'s economic development.What we are looking for:At least 5 years of work experience with proven track recordGood verbal and written communication skillsAnalytical thinking and good business acumenGood stakeholder management skillsComfortable working with numbersExposure to strategy-related work is a plus pointGood business acumen, analytical thinking and judgementWorking effectively within STB & stakeholders outside STB to achieve resultsServing with heart, commitment and purposeBeing innovative and learning continuouslyThe following competencies required for this role are: Strategic Planning, Policy Development, Business Data Analytics, Procurement Operations, Industry Programme Development and ManagementApplication Status: Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 2 weeks from the closing date of this job posting.
