What the role is:Description of Group: Are you seeking a workplace dedicated to empowering and supporting the vulnerable population in Singapore? Description of Division/Branch: As a member of the RPG family, the Child Protective Service (CPS) plays a pivotal role in developing and implementing child protection policies to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young persons in Singapore. Our work is centred on the crucial task of keeping children safe from harm, achieved through collaborative efforts with families, schools, hospitals, and other community stakeholders. The Operations Strategy Branch leads the transformation efforts of the CPS into a future-ready and resilient organisation. Specifically, the Data and Tech team supports the CPS\'s ongoing transformation journey by implementing cutting-edge practices to enhance service delivery and efficiency. The team also aims to pioneer new approaches in service delivery by identifying digital or technological opportunities and experimenting with such solutions to create tangible benefits for colleagues and clients. In pursuit of these objectives, the team embraces an enterprising spirit and agile mindset, collaborating closely with other CPS operations teams, MSF departments, and external stakeholders to uncover actionable insights and value for the CPS.What you will be working on:We are seeking individuals with a strong passion for leveraging data for social impact. As an Assistant Manager/Manager, you will play a pivotal role in analysing complex datasets to generate meaningful data-driven insights that enhance the effectiveness of our services, as well as in developing structures for proper data management and governance. The ideal candidate should possess a combination of technical expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to communicate insights clearly and persuasively. You will report to the Team Lead and be responsible for the following key duties: \xe2\x80\xa2 Collaborate with CPS teams and MSF divisions to identify operational data requirements, ensure sound data collection practices and/or integration with IT systems. \xe2\x80\xa2 Analyse complex datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and insights. \xe2\x80\xa2 Communicate data-driven insights through visualisations, interactive dashboards and presentations to inform decision-making. \xe2\x80\xa2 Establish, review, and ensure compliance of data governance policies in CPS and its funded agencies in collaboration with MSF and the broader public service. \xe2\x80\xa2 Explore and implement new ops-tech solutions to optimise child protection processes and operations.What we are looking for:Requirements Competencies: \xe2\x80\xa2 Tertiary qualifications in Data Science, Business Analytics, or Statistics are advantageous. \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. \xe2\x80\xa2 Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. \xe2\x80\xa2 Proficiency in statistical and programming/machine learning models such as R, Python, or SQL. \xe2\x80\xa2 Proficiency in data cleaning and analysis using tools like pandas, numpy, or similar libraries. \xe2\x80\xa2 Sound understanding of data visualisation tools, e.g., Tableau, Power BI.
