DESIGNATION : Assistant Manager/Manager (Collections Management)

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement all aspects of the project plan for artworks related activities leading to the realization of exhibitions, including workflow, budget, logistics, procurement, reframing, artwork handling, mounting, technical setup and administration matters in the Special Exhibitions and Permanent Galleries.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimal resourcing, working relationships and fostering key networks.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations, including safety, security of artworks and environmental conditions of the space of artworks in display or in storage.
  • Maintain good preventive conservation and housekeeping practices in the artwork handling space, artwork stores and galleries.
  • Responsible in managing the RIFD tagging processes and updating documentation for artwork movement.
  • Ensure that artworks are properly accounted for by maintaining the inventory data and artwork movement via online artwork management system.
  • Review and keep up with current trends and best practices that may have an impact on exhibition planning, logistics, inventory monitoring and artwork related issues.
  • Performs other administrative duties when required.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Diploma/Degree in Arts or design related field with 3 to 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in museum or related industry.
  • Experienced in condition checking process and artwork handling.
  • Knowledge of art and art history including identification of specific types of art works.
  • Skilled in organizing museum exhibits.
  • Self-motivated, responsible, driven, resourceful, a good team player and able to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team player.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and handle administrative work .
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Good organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • This role will require the individual to walk and stand for long period of time.
  • Keen interest in the arts, heritage, and museum field.
