Understand the different types of services relating to parcel and mail business e.g. Registered Article, AM Mail, SmartPac, NDD, NSV, NOR and etc.
Understand the mail and parcel guidelines and schemes for the different categories of their service level for delivery.
Responsible for the efficient and smooth operation of parcel and mail transit processing for local posting as well as those received from overseas postal administrations.
Responsible for all the staff under his supervision in the section
To optimize the deployment of manpower under his charge so as to achieve high productivity and efficiency.
To ensure that all staff are properly trained to operate various machines for processing parcels and mail.
To enforce strict compliance of all related Work, Health and Safety matters for all staff within his supervision
Responsible for the processing of parcels and mail according to the priority to meet the service standard set by IDA.
Ensure all parcels and mail are processed timely based on the different priority and service level and are connected to delivery bases for delivery.
Responsible for the cleanliness and good housekeeping of the section
To enforce and ensure that staff comply with security rules by the management and to make random checks on staff lockers.
To be responsible for the investigation and follow-up action pertaining to customer\'s enquiry, request or complaints on matters relating to parcel and mail processing, surcharge mail or returned items.
To work closely with maintenance staff to ensure low machine down time and maximize the machine performance.
Take responsibility for all work performance of the unit, including down time and turnover of the staff.
To communicate and conduct dialogue sessions with staff in order to give and get feedback on matters pertaining to the section\'s operation.
To maintain and submit daily statistical reports of mail volume, machines, and staff performance.
Ensure and monitor staff discipline through monitoring and performance counselling of poor performers of all grades of staff in the workforce.
To oversee the day-to-day administrative staff matters such as attendance hours, annual leave, shift allowance, medical leave and ensure that all required information is updated daily.
To conduct regular random checks on work performed by staff to ensure unnecessary mistakes
To prepare and update operation instructions and procedures or other new projects as and when required.
Work with the line managers to generate production improvement strategies to improve productivity and efficiency on the operation floors.
To perform any other duties or assignments as instructed I assigned by superiors.
