Job Description

Nanyang Technological University (NTU) invites applications for Assistant Professor (Tenure-track) /Associate Professor (Tenure-track/Tenured) in Hardware and Cyber Physical Security.

The job holder will carry out cutting edge research in hardware and/or cyber physical system security to discover security vulnerabilities and threats in the hardware design and supply chain, and develop countermeasures, design methodologies, design tools, testing, verification and/or implementations that help to thwart these threats and enhance the trustworthiness of electronic sensing, storage, computing and/or communication systems.

The job holder will be actively involved in teaching and administration to contribute to the University\xe2\x80\x99s aspiration to be a world-class research-intensive university. The job holder will be given time to develop his/her research, initially receiving a reduced teaching and administrative workload.

Responsibilities

• Secure research funding to build up research, and provide high quality research outputs in publications, invention disclosures, and engineering designs, tools, protocols, etc. in addressing security and privacy protection challenges faced by emerging technologies and applications, such as heterogenous integration, internet of things, artificial intelligence, implantable and wearable devices, physical unclonable functions, radio frequency fingerprint, post-quantum cryptography, distributed computing, or cross-disciplines hardware and cyber physical security.
• Engage in the development and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate curricula in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and related disciplines.
• Support, supervise and mentor undergraduate students in project works and other academic pursuits, and postgraduate research students in research projects and the development of their research careers.
• Play an active role in the life of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, College of Engineering and the University by supporting activities around research, teaching, enterprise, student experience and widening participation.

Requirements
Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:

• A Ph.D. in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or a relevant field
• At least three years of research experience in hardware or cyber physical security
• Excellent track records in publishing high-impact papers in top journals and conferences
• Proven track records and expertise in hardware or cyber physical security
• Preferable to have secured some research funding as principal investigator
• Preferable to have proven track records of teaching and mentoring
• Good interpersonal skills
• A mindset of continual growth and academic excellence
