Assistant Sales Manager (plastics & Polymers)

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:


Support in executing sales strategies and achieving revenue targets. Manage and grow relationships with both local and Japanese clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Identify new business opportunities and lead generations. Conduct technical discussions and product presentations with clients, including procurement and R&D teams. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms in line with company policies. Coordinate with internal teams (logistics, technical, finance) to ensure timely delivery, service and prompt payment collection. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform sales strategies. Maintain accurate sales records, forecasts, and reports using CRM tools. Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and client meetings.


Requirements:


Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field. Candidate must have at least 5 years of sales experience in the plastics, chemicals, or manufacturing industry. Candidate must have good understanding of polymer materials and their industrial applications. Candidate must have fluent Japanese proficiency to liaise with Japanese speaking clients and suppliers as well as stakeholders. Candidate with experience working in a diverse culture environment will have a distinct advantage. Candidate with excellent communication, presentation, IT and interpersonal skills will have a distinct advantage. Candidate will be required to work independently under minimal supervision and a team player. * Candidate will be required to travel overseas for work purpose occasionally.
