Role PurposeTo engage in all aspects of international tax management, corporate restructuring and provide analytical & technical support to Tax Manager.Role AccountabilitiesTax Advisory Assist tax manager on tax advisory work involving corporate restructuring and new projects/ setup/ contracts review by researching different tax resources platforms and drafting recommendation/implications on international tax matters (involving different tax types) considering internal stakeholders and tax agents inputs (where applicable). Attend to any adhoc tax queries raised by the group entities. Keep abreast of different countries tax news update and assess implications for the group.Tax Audit/ Queries/ Incentive application Work with internal stakeholders and tax agent (where applicable) to draft/ review responses to tax authorities queries and facilitate the application/ clarification of any tax incentives/ treaty benefit eligibility.Tax Compliance Coordinate with internal stakeholders and tax agent to ensure preparation of annual corporate tax return and transfer pricing documentation (if applicable) is timely and allow for reasonable review by Swire Shipping tax department before submission. Review group entities corporate tax returns on tax treatment and ensure reconciliation/consistency to audited/ management accounts disclosures. Clear internal tax review points with internal stakeholders and tax agent before submission. Indirect tax returns review for selected entities only.Internal control/ reporting Facilitate the completion and review of templates/ reports (country by country, Master file, tax citizenship) required for submission to ultimate parent tax department. Perform periodic desk top tax review on selected group entity (not limiting to direct tax).Policy / Improvement Ensure group tax policy is being adhere to and monitor any changes required from time to time. Work with internal stakeholders on process improvement involving tax functions to mitigate risk and improve efficiency for the group.Others Assist the department on any ad-hoc duties as assigned.Crisis Management Make every effort to be aware of and understand your role in the event of a crisis. Make every effort to attend any relevant training, simulations and or meetings relating to Crisis Management Perform your role as best as possible in a calm and collaborative manner in line with the relevant policy and procedures in the event of a Crisis Provide input and feedback towards the ongoing improvement of the Crisis Management framework and procedure.Safety Take responsibility for the safety of myself and those around me by displaying safety leadership principles (i.e. Safety I's & Accountability ladder). Comply with the Global Safety Standards, Policies and Operating Procedures.Key Qualifications & Skills Degree in Accountancy or equivalent professional accounting qualifications Tax accreditation with Singapore Institute of Accredited Tax Professional preferred Min 5 to 6 years of relevant tax experience in Big 4 accounting firm and commercial firm. Knowledge of shipping taxation will be an added advantage. Commercial experience in reviewing Singapore and overseas countries tax returns with knowledge of tax accounting preferred. Strong technical knowledge of Singapore direct tax Knowledge of indirect tax preferred but not a must Good communication and interpersonal skills.
