The Group is driving an exciting rejuvenation plan at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, adjacent to Singapore\'s Central Catchment Nature Reserve, that will integrate five wildlife parks with distinctive nature-based experiences, green public spaces and an eco-friendly resort.
Mandai Wildlife Group advocates for biodiversity, contributes leading wildlife research, develops innovative solutions to promote living sustainably, and collaborates with conservation partners in Singapore and Southeast Asia.
The Group provides funding and in-kind support to Mandai Nature for conservation work across Southeast Asia.
Mandai X is the growth accelerator and venture building arm of Mandai Wildlife Group that sparks, catalyses and accelerates innovative ventures in completely new domains that drive growth and impact at scale.
As part of the Attractions Development team, you will be working closely with the Theming subcontractors to execute realistic theming works within a natural setting. You will also be working with both internal and external stakeholders to develop exhibit and interpretive elements across the park.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Theming
To provide artistic direction to theming contractors aligned with the vision of the park.
To provide theming support and interface with other disciplines such as landscape, architecture, animal and adventure elements.
To review both offsite and onsite fabrication and installation works in Rainforest Wild Asia and Africa, providing input for texture, colour and form from mock-ups, first articles through to buy-off approvals and handover.
To support theming coordination, scenography and aesthetic curation for soundscape and lighting.
Interpretive Design:
To guide the awarded Design and Build contractor for the design development for Rainforest Wild Asia Exhibit & Interpretive.
To develop design brief document for Exhibit, Interpretive & Artwork for Rainforest Wild Africa, support the tender and award process.
To supervise aesthetic aspect during mock-up, fabrication and installation phases including layout, graphics, fit-out materials, furniture, replicas, sculptures, props, sounds and video productions
To prepare design brief document for artwork, support artwork tender, evaluation and oversee final installation.
To work closely with stakeholders to obtain all necessary approvals.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Bachelor\'s degree/ diploma (or equivalent) in fine art, exhibit design, architecture/ landscape architecture or similar discipline.
At least 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in theming, theme park design and exhibit art direction.
Experience in dealing with contractors and multi-disciplinary set of consultants
Proactive team player with strong interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and presentation skills
Adaptable with strong stakeholder management skill as part of construction and handover stage
Strong project management skills with clear success indicators from planning to execution
Good eye for details and sense of composition and colour
Photoshop skills
