Job PurposeYou are required to provide underwriting support within the risk management framework of GELS prescribed guidelines, for individual product lines (especially for Bancassurance products).The Job

• Provide underwriting due diligence on new applications, within the prescribed guidelines by GELS and Reinsurance partners
• Identify risks and apply best underwriting practices in line with the industry standard
• Provide competitive, yet risk appropriate underwriting advice and market leading underwriting services
• Provide critical liaison and build strong business relationship with distribution channels (Bancassurance & Brokers), HNW Business Management team, Group Risk Management, AML & Compliance, Products teams, Actuarial, Reinsurers, etc
• Proactively seek for Banca process improvement and instill a culture of customer first approach
• Ensure timely and adequate support for business including training for distribution channels
• Support in the reviewing and updating underwriting guidelines for Banca products
• Project management, e.g. review & streamline work processes to support business operations, prepare SOPs, review forms etc
• Take accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and take appropriate steps to mitigate the risks
• Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company
• Highlight any potential concerns/ risks and proactively share best risk management practices

QualificationsOur Requirements

• Degree with at least 10 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in underwriting GIO, SIO and non-GIO insurance products for Life, Disability, Critical illness, Long Term Care, Accident and Health risks
• Prior experience of managing a team is preferred
• Leadership ability, a team player, possess problem solving skills and business acumen
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• High level of integrity, take accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork
• Take initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes
