[What the role is]
The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) is Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s central bank and integrated financial regulator.
As central bank, MAS promotes sustained, non-inflationary economic growth through the conduct of monetary policy and close macroeconomic surveillance and analysis. It manages Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s exchange rate, official foreign reserves, and liquidity in the banking sector.
As an integrated financial supervisor, MAS fosters a sound financial services sector through its prudential oversight of all financial institutions in Singapore \xe2\x80\x93 banks, insurers, capital market intermediaries, financial advisors, and stock exchanges. It is also responsible for well-functioning financial markets, sound conduct, and investor education.
MAS also works with the financial industry to promote Singapore as a dynamic international financial centre. It facilitates the development of infrastructure, adoption of technology, and upgrading of skills in the financial industry.

[What you will be working on]
You will be responsible for monitoring and identifying new regulatory developments, including developments in the digital assets space, highlighting policy concerns both from the conduct and market infrastructure perspectives. These aimed at ensuring that our regulatory regime remains robust and effective to address risks to the industry and continue to promote market efficiency and support a vibrant growth in the capital markets eco-system.
In your area of work, you will be relied on to engage the industry and assess risks and other policy concerns, initiate reviews and follow through with legislative changes as necessary. You will also support work in international standard-setting bodies and other fora to advance Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s position and influence international policies.
Areas of focus could range from reviewing regulations in systemically-important financial market infrastructures, managing international reforms and standards implementation, to studying implications from disruptive innovations to the industry. These include for example the implications on the adoption of distributed ledger technology and smart contracts, the development in the tokenised economy and digital assets space. This will be part of the steps in formulating and designing regulatory responses, and implementing changes to regulations.
