Associate Director, Capital Advisory, Reinsurance

What the day will look like
This position is part of the Capital Advisory practice group of Aon Reinsurance Solutions. This practice group helps insurers and reinsurers to:

• devise balance sheet solutions supporting capital management
• develop strategies for optimisation of capital, tailored to risk appetite
• assess and/or improve Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) practices,
• adapt to evolving regulatory requirements,
• analyze dynamic market information,
• evaluate and implement bespoke structured reinsurance solutions to help with volatility and capital management,
• optimize reinsurance programmes from a rating and/or regulatory capital perspective.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor the evolution of insurance regulations of major Asia Pacific markets. Periodically issue regulatory updates to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Assess the impact on rating and / or regulatory capital due to the implementation of reinsurance.
• Liaise with clients and reinsurer partners to evaluate alternative reinsurance structures designed at maximising capital efficiency.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

• Bachelor or Masters degree, in the area of finance, accounting, insurance, or actuarial science.
• 5-8 years of working experience. Ideal candidates are those with a financial / actuarial background with experience in general insurance. It is a hybrid role that requires both analytical and client-facing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word / Excel / PowerPoint. VBA programming is a plus.
• Solid finance and accounting knowledge. Good understanding of insurers and reinsurers financial statements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface at all levels with internal and external stakeholders.
