Role description:
Provides stock research and sales services of Japan market to institutional investors. This involves discussing reports written by Nomura analysts with investors and making recommendations, as well as collaborating with the CRM team (which arranges IR activities and events) and other departments to provide information, aiming to enhance customer satisfaction. Additionally, we stimulate demand among institutional investors for various offerings and support operating companies in their financing activities
Responsibilities:
Equity sales client coverage (including close daily working interactions with Japanese speaking clients).
Key revenue producer/driver able to identify new clients whilst serving existing ones.
Responsible for delivering innovative products to clients.
Influence and understand client needs.
Identify new revenue streams.
Partner effectively with colleagues to deliver the full extent of the firm's products and capabilities. Pursue multi-product outcomes.
Take strategic view of the equity business and work closely with partners across the equities division to deliver the entire firm to clients.
Take direct responsibility for the product and revenue generation to target.
Job Requirements:
Junior salesperson with minimum 2 years or more experience of equity sales experience in Japan market.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in Japanese and English. Professional fluency in Japanese and English is required.
Experience in dealing with Hedge funds as clients, since their investment styles differ from traditional "long-only" investors.
STEM background: Beyond the research sales function, will be to contribute to the development of derivative products (such as custom baskets).
Able to take direct responsibility for the product and revenue generation to target
Presentable with good client management skills
Sound commercial business acumen
Excellent communication and presentation skills with proven experience in communicating with international teams
Demonstrates strong leadership skills supported by ability to collaborate across team, function and region
Demonstrates professional ethics and leads by example in building Nomura culture
Strong understanding of regulatory environment
Highly energetic with superior understanding of the firm's clients needs
Build and maintain relationship with subsidiaries of Japan and local corporates across South East Asia. Bridge Japan products to Singapore and South East Asia clients
Liaise with key stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions and the Japan Headquarter
Strong connections with senior management in Japan corporates
Profound understanding of Japanese business mannerisms and proven ability to build relationships across layers in client institutions
