Investment Services Private Markets (ISPVM)

The Investment Services Private Markets Department (ISPVM) is responsible for investment services for the private market across the GIC group. It is responsible for providing deal structuring and closing, portfolio monitoring, valuation, finance, operations, tax, data management and analytics services, in the execution of private market investments across Private Equity, Private Credits, Real Estate and Infrastructure. It is also involved in financial reporting and accounting of investment holding companies, as well as operations and financial due diligence for asset operations.

Strategy Office

The Strategy team assists the Director of ISPVM in steering, advancing, and overseeing the execution of ISPVM\'s strategic plans. This involves recognising growth opportunities, evaluating, and mitigating risks, for market leadership. The team will focus on Strategic Partnerships, Management Office, and Sustainability Solutions.

As an Associate in our Strategy Team, you will have the opportunity to embark into a journey within the growing Private Markets\' sector, with exciting opportunities for professional growth and development. You will work closely with the Team to shape and deliver the ISPVM strategy, business and operational solutions; including analytical and business supports. You will be required to interact with people at all levels across the firm globally.

What will you do as an Associate?

  • Strategic Partnership Framework and Engagement: Participate in designing the new framework, developing new capabilities, supporting implementation and day to day activities. Assist with the coordination of key partners\' engagement.
  • Market Landscaping: Support in conducting research to identify and monitor private market leading trends and best practices, e.g. front to back operating models, technology, data, sustainability.
  • Vendor Opportunities: Assist in identifying and evaluating ongoing potential vendors and strategic partners. Support engagement managers with contract negotiations and vendor onboarding, include ongoing monitoring on overall vendor performance and compliance with internal frameworks and policies.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Support the implementation of complex initiatives within or across the department. Involved in the development and implementation of department business plan, policies, procedures, and risk governance framework, etc.
  • Business Management: Spearhead the department\'s internal communication and engagement plan. Responsible for regular and ad hoc senior management reporting and presentations. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track business and operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant business management or consulting work experience in the financial services industry. Experience in the Private Markets industry is a plus
  • Bachelor\'s degree in business administration, finance, or a related field
  • Pro-active, committed, dependable, positive and driven individual with strong attention to details
  • Strong learning agility and system thinking mindset with the ability to connect the dots
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; Coupled with effective project management and organisational capabilities to suggest and implement constructive, pragmatic solutions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build working relationship with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation globally, while demonstrating maturity and openness to feedback.
  • Good team player who provides strong support to team members to accomplish overall team goals
  • Effective project management and organisational capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
