Job Description


The Role Responsibilities
Business

  • Work closely with Retail Business to understand their requirements and responsible to deliver projects\' outcome while maintaining strong controls, processes, governance and risk management for the country.
Processes
  • Facilitate standardisation, automation and consolidation through re-engineering and process improvement initiatives for the country.
  • Evaluate systems, processes, technical platforms and functionalities in compliance with regulatory and internal policy requirements as well as related procedures.
  • Work closely with the hubs to ensure that end to end processes work seamlessly, efficiently and effectively.
Risk Management
  • Ensure all CDD procedures in the country comply with Group Policies and Standards during project delivery. Ensure proper and updated documentation in place for in-country policies and procedures.
  • Ensure various CDD/ AML/ Sanction/ FATCA risks are being actively prevented and detected in a timely manner on an end-to-end basis.
  • Recommend changes to the process control environment or to business practices, where necessary, to reduce the level of risk exposure to within the agreed appetite.
  • Balance business performance delivery and cost management with risk and control matters to ensure that it does not materially threaten the Group, while remaining within risk appetite.
Governance
  • Ensure compliance with the highest standards of regulatory and business conduct and compliance practices as defined by internal and external requirements during programme delivery. This includes compliance with local banking laws, other applicable laws and anti-money laundering regulations and guidelines.
  • Support closure of issues / gaps arising from Internal Audits, peer reviews and regulatory reviews for the country.

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\'s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank\'s Conduct Principles. Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets, Financial Crime Compliance, The Right Environment.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • 2+ years\' experience in AML/KYC and client onboarding, from banking and/or financial services sector
  • Experience in project management, evaluating systems, processes and functionalities in compliance with regulatory and internal policy requirements with high attention to detail
  • Ability to suggest and implement changes to the process control environment or to business practices
  • High level of integrity and professionalism, with high attention to detail
  • Able to work under tight deadline, manage multi-tasks and work independently
  • Able to work in multi-cultural teams
  • Willing to stand and work in ambiguity and fast-changing environment
