The Department of History at the National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for a full-time, tenured Associate Professor in South Asian History to commence from August 2024. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in History, clearly demonstrate the potential for excellence in research and teaching, and have a record of (or clear potential for) distinguished scholarship, grant-funded research, and student mentorship at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. NUS is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service as appropriate to the position.According to the QS Rankings 2024, the NUS Department of History is ranked 11th among university history departments worldwide and 1st in Asia. It is one of fifteen Departments, a Program, and a Language Centre within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and Southeast Asia and East Asia are areas of special strength for the Department, which consists of more than thirty faculty members with research interests in various aspects of Asian, European, and U.S. history, as well as business, environmental, international, legal, maritime, military, and religious history, and science and technology studies.Application dossiers should include a complete list of publications, research interests, and teaching experience, as well as any other relevant information.
