Support Product Innovation and Sensory work at Abbott Nutrition R&D.
Key product innovation activities include evaluation of new ingredients for health benefits, assessment of published scientific and clinical data, and creating concise, creative presentation of scientific information for stakeholders.
Key sensory activities include sensory panel management, conducting sensory evaluations, internal sensory testing, and data reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Support development of new product ideas and concepts – including new functional ingredients, benefits, formats etc. to build product pipeline for Abbott Nutrition brands in the region
Perform literature review to support innovation objectives for Abbott Nutrition brands (including adults, pediatric and infant)
Generate creative presentations to showcase science and innovation ideas
Support activities for professionally trained sensory panel set up including recruitment, screening, training, and certification of panelists
Manage regular sensory evaluation by trained sensory panelists including shared responsibilities for samples preparation, samples evaluation, data collection and reporting of data
Responsible for internal sensory testing, interpretation of statistical results and reporting to stakeholders
Support the development and implementation of sensory specifications for ingredients
Support external consumer sensory studies and finished products
Manage operations of sensory lab including lab inventory, equipment calibration and other lab housekeeping to maintain smooth and safe lab operations
Requirements:
Bachelors/Masters Degree in Food science/ Biological science or other relevant scientific disciplines.
1-3 years’ work experience in Food Science/Consumer Science or related field. Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply.
Experience in scientific/ clinical literature review and synthesis of scientific information into Excel/ PowerPoint
Knowledge of sensory or closely related fields
Knowledge of Discrimination testing, Descriptive Analysis and other Consumer testing tools and techniques
Basic knowledge of statistical theory and its application to sensory/consumer research
Good communication skills, strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills including time management and priority setting
Proficient in Microsoft Office
