In Singapore, our company is located within the Biopolis, the heart of Singapore's biomedical research community. Here, we are focused on identifying and validating new drug targets, exploring innovative therapeutic modalities, and leveraging clinical studies. We use patient-derived material to understand biomarkers of disease or therapeutic response to increase our understanding of human biology and to drive a therapeutic pipeline to address unmet medical needs. Our state-of-the-art laboratory supports discovery biology and translational medicine and is an integral part of our company's world-class network for drug and vaccine discovery.

Our efforts in developing imaging biomarkers revolve around exploring promising science using a wide range of cutting-edge medical imaging platforms, including MRI, PET, Ultrasound, and OCT. In achieving our goal of impacting drug discovery pipeline and research decision making, we work in close multi-disciplinary collaboration with academic researchers and clinicians in Singapore to develop and deploy biomarker assays.

Our Research Scientists are our Inventors. We identify and target steps in disease mechanisms or pathways that could be inhibited or enhanced. Our goal is to isolate a compound that is effective against a disease target. Using innovative thinking, state-of-the-art facilities and robust scientific methodology we collaborate to discover the next medical breakthrough.

We are currently seeking a talented imaging scientist to join our research laboratory. As an Associate Scientist, you will be a part of our Discovery Cardiometabolic Disease Department. You will work on the discovery and development of novel biomarkers for preclinical studies, early clinical research, and clinical trials across therapeutic areas. You will have the opportunity to work with highly experienced and dedicated scientists, learn from leading industry experts, gain exposure and professional experience working for a research-driven enterprise, and use your passion, creativity, knowledge, and collaboration skills to find solutions to challenging problems in your day-to-day work.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct relevant literature studies to formulate methods and hypothesis for the analysis and interpretation of medical images
  • Perform relevant data cleaning, preparation, preprocessing, and visualization for further machine learning based analysis
  • Develop or implement relevant machine learning or image analysis methodologies for the identification of imaging biomarkers
  • Exploration of big medical datasets and derivation of biological insights from these datasets
  • Usage of cloud-based platforms such as AWS or high-performance computing for computational needs
  • Participate, communicate, and present research results in internal scientific discussions between cross-functional teams
  • Participate in meetings with external stakeholders
  • Document relevant experiments and results in electronic notebooks
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Enrollment in an Undergraduate/Master's program leading to a Degree in an Engineering/ Computer Science/ Information Systems discipline
  • Took relevant courses or had hands-on experience on projects related to Image Processing (Computer Vision / Machine Vision / Biomedical Imaging Systems etc.), Signal Processing and/or Machine Learning
  • Took courses or have hands-on experience with imaging data, in terms of data visualization, preprocessing and analysis
  • Familiar with programming/scripting using MATLAB, Bash, Python etc. and common libraries
