Associate Scientist/Scientist, Imaging Biomarkers, Biomarker & Target Sciences (Discovery Cardio Metabolic Diseases)

Our Research Scientists are our Inventors. We identify and target steps in disease mechanisms or pathways that could be inhibited or enhanced. Our goal is to isolate a compound that is effective against a disease target. Using innovative thinking, state-of-the-art facilities and robust scientific methodology we collaborate to discover the next medical breakthrough. Primary Responsibilities
  • Responsibility for the discovery and development of novel imaging biomarkers to support drug discovery and development.
  • Coordination and execution of imaging studies to meet a demanding Discovery program timeline.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues and external research institutes or CROs to develop innovative end-to-end solutions that address imaging biomarker questions and work towards semi/fully automatic solutions
  • Perform scientific literature reviews and database research on various topics independently and synthesize relevant information in support of imaging biomarker development
  • Software or platform development enabling imaging biomarkers
  • Presentation of research results to discovery, preclinical, and clinical teams, including the writing of manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals.
  • Accurate record-keeping for notebooks, equipment logs, and research reports
Education Minimum Requirement: Tertiary Degree in computer science, engineering, computational biology or the equivalent: Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with 3 years of relevant experience; Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree with 1 years of experience; or no work experience but with thesis in medical imaging (ophthalmology, pulmonology, cardiology, vascular biology) and computer vision field. Required Experience and Skills:
  • Strong foundation in one or more of the following: Image Processing, Computer vision, Signal Processing and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning
  • Hands-on experience with at least one programming languages such as MATLAB, Bash, Python, R etc. for performing data analysis and image processing. Familiarity of deploying deep learning using the above programming languages.
  • Hands-on experience with HPC and AWS, familiarity with Databricks is advantageous.
  • Understanding of in vivo imaging techniques for preclinical and clinical research, such as optical coherence tomography (OCT), OCT-A, MRI, PET/CT, ultrasound, and optical imaging, is advantageous.
  • A strong academic record, a keen interest in working in a research-intensive environment and authorship in abstracts/publications
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Passion in drug discovery research, disease biology and develop appropriate imaging biomarker solutions to overcome challenges associated with drug discovery and development
  • Adapt, agile, curious, and lifetime learning mind set.
  • A highly motivated team player to work in a collaborative, cross-functional working environment. Have a positive, proactive, can-do attitude
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
