Overview of the Function

Our IP/IT practice provides an integrated service to clients on the full range of commercial, transaction and contentious IP-IT issues, frequently on a multi-jurisdictional basis. We advise on a mix of stand-alone work and alongside other practices, in particular, the wider Corporate group.





Our practice spans brands and patents, IP/IT transactional work (M&A, joint ventures and commercial contracts), healthcare, technology/ internet, media and telecommunications, and data privacy and cyber security regulation.





We act for commercial and industrial clients in the communications, IT, media, consumer products, automotive, healthcare and financial services sectors in particular.

About the role

The lawyer will be an integrated part of the Asia IP/IT team and will work closely and directly with the Corporate M&A teams in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Singapore (including on India work). The work mix will be regional.

Responsibilities and deliverables

We will be looking for candidates with IP-centric experience with the following skills and experience:





An all-rounder: a broad range of contentious and non-contentious IP work and data privacy, across the healthcare sector. Solid non-contentious experience in free-standing commercial projects and transactional matters should be demonstrated, such as JVs, licensing projects and other commercial agreements. Experience with data protection/ privacy, IP and other regulatory issues coming up in transactions is strongly preferred.Work on a broad range of high-value public and private M&A transactions, including cross-border deals

Requirements

The candidate should have 3-5 or more years post-qualification experience with an international firm. Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is required. A top-class academic record is essential. * Experience with healthcare work is strongly preferred.
