Job Description

What the role is:
As an Associate Software Engineer in the Human Resource (HR) Solutions and Capabilities Division, you will be part of the Products, Innovation, and Experimentation team where you will explore, build, and modernise HR operations. You will be responsible for conducting independent research and exploration of new technologies, while proactively investigating unfamiliar tools and frameworks for projects ranging from building a quick web app prototype to scripting a complex automation workflow.
What you will be working on:

  • Build rapid functional prototypes (Minimum Viable Products) to test hypotheses and validate whether ideas are viable for wider adoption o Evaluate new technology by researching and exploring emerging tools, open-source libraries and frameworks to address current challenges and opportunities o Develop full-stack solutions and automation scripts, working across the technology spectrum from React frontends to Python workflows and API integrations o Design and execute small experiments to test user behaviour and technical feasibility o Engage in self-directed learning and take ownership of professional development, with dedicated time and resources provided to acquire technologies required for successful project delivery
What we are looking for:
  • Relevant background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field o Curiosity and resourcefulness in problem-solving, and a clear understanding that experimentation drives innovation and not every prototype will become a final product o Proficiency in modern programming language (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, etc.) and familiarity with Git and version control systems o Good understanding of web development fundamentals including HTTP, APIs, and HTML/CSS o Strong builder portfolio showcasing passion for creation through personal websites, games, bots, hackathon projects, or similar initiatives. You are encouraged to include a weblink a link to your GitHub, GitLab or personal portfolio.
