Overview of Division/Department

Our Asia Pacific Department (APD) is responsible for setting up a business strategy and a business plan for the Asia Pacific region, which includes the conduct of profit management and administrative operations for branches, subsidiaries and affiliates under the Global Corporate & Investment Banking Company in the Asia-Pacific region (the Branches). In addition, we oversee governance matters of the Branches. Above all, we promote collaboration with subsidiaries or affiliated companies of Mizuho Financial Group.

Job Responsibilities
Develop and implement a credit risk management framework for market instruments to boost business in the Asia-Pacific region.

  • To simulate exposures (such as Potential Future Exposure and Expected Positive Exposure) for market instruments such as foreign exchange and derivatives transactions.
  • To develop and offer schemes with deep insight of counterparty risk.
  • To measure counterparty risk for combined or complex market instruments and adequately explain the risk characteristics to relevant parties.
  • To educate stakeholders on the methodology for measuring exposure to market instruments.
  • To create a structure to manage exposure to market instruments across Asia-Pacific and carry out monitoring.
  • To create a framework to manage overlapped area between market risk and credit risk properly (including Wrong-way Risks, Right-way risks)
  • To achieve proactive credit portfolio management.
  • Through proper measurement of counterparty risk.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in finance, economics, business, mathematics, physics or a related field, with 2-3 years\' work experience.
- 2-3 years\' experience in banking industry, with experience of planning, business promotion, sales representative or risk management;
- Good knowledge of market instruments such as foreign exchange, interest rate and derivatives instruments.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (including formulas, graphs and pivot table);
- Excellent interpersonal relation and communication skills in both written and spoken English.
- A strong will to tackle new challenge creatively.
