What the role is:The Accountant-General\'s Department (AGD) plays an important role in making Singapore a better place through Finance. At AGD, we aim to be a future-ready leader in transforming Public Sector finance by putting finance at the heart of our decision-making. We do this through building a strong foundation in providing robust financial systems and processes that serve key stakeholders including our pensioners, vendors and the public sector. Our team of finance professionals work at AGD and are deployed to the public agencies to deliver a wide range of financial and internal audit services to the Public Service. Together we play a critical role in helping the Government achieve its fiscal and economic objectives through sound stewardship and governance. The Finance Data & Analytics (FDA) office oversees the Finance data and analytics strategy to support the Government\'s Finance and Internal Audit community in better decision making. You will be part of the team that is responsible for (1) implementing central platforms and solutions to help the Government Finance and Internal Audit community in decision making through the delivery of data, visualisation and analysis; (2) working with the Finance and Internal Audit community in the adoption of data and analytics in their business processes; and (3) institutionalising measures to ensure/facilitate secure data sharing and usage of Finance data.What you will be working on:As Associate/Assistant Director (FDA), you will report to the Head (FDA) and take on the following key responsibilities: \xe2\x80\xa2 Oversee the administration of Whole-of-Government (WOG) enterprise finance analytics platform Fi@Gov to ensure the smooth operation. This entails working closely with the technology partners and system integrator on application maintenance and security administration. \xe2\x80\xa2 Develop, manage and maintain dashboards from end-to-end, including user requirement studies, data acquisition, design, prototyping, development, testing and deployment. The current data visualisation tool for Fi@Gov is MicroStrategy. \xe2\x80\xa2 Plan and implement the data strategy and analytics roadmap for WOG finance. This includes expanding the data integration pipelines to enrich the Fi@Gov data warehouse and working on data harmonisation projects to strengthen the data foundation for Fi@Gov. \xe2\x80\xa2 Monitor emerging trends of data analytics techniques and applications for finance and audit, both locally and internationally, and facilitate the sharing of these applications and good practices with public sector agencies.What we are looking for:Functional Competencies: \xe2\x80\xa2 Tertiary education in Accountancy, Analytics, Economics, Statistics, or related discipline. \xe2\x80\xa2 Competent in any of the leading BI tools in the market e.g. MicroStrategy, Tableau, Qlik, Power BI \xe2\x80\xa2 Competent in at least one programming language e.g. SQL &/or Python \xe2\x80\xa2 Experience in vendor management and project management is preferred \xe2\x80\xa2 Familiarity with data management tools (e.g. Talend, Denodo) will be an advantage \xe2\x80\xa2 Familiarity with finance and risk management concepts will be an advantage \xe2\x80\xa2[For Assistant Director (FDA)] At least 2 years of relevant working experience, preferably in data analytics or a related field & strong leadership and supervisory skills Generic Competencies: \xe2\x80\xa2 Self-motivated to learn and keep up to date with the latest analytical technologies in the industry \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to analyse information from various sources to put forth clear proposals and recommendations for management decision-making. \xe2\x80\xa2 Good presentation and communications skills (verbal and written) to express proposals and recommendations clearly and concisely to all levels of management. \xe2\x80\xa2 Good critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills. \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to adapt to uncertain and changing requirements. \xe2\x80\xa2 Good time management skills to multi-task and deliver work assignments. \xe2\x80\xa2 Meticulous and a good team player who can work well independently.
