Job Description

Core Responsibilities of an Audit Associate

The primary duties revolve around fieldwork, documentation, and compliance checks:

Audit Execution:

Perform detailed

audit procedures and testing

on various accounts, such as cash, accounts receivable, payables, inventory, and revenue. Execute and document tests of

internal controls

to assess their effectiveness. Obtain and verify necessary

audit working papers and supporting documentation

from clients. Ensure work is performed in accordance with

Singapore Standards on Auditing (SSA)

and the

Singapore Companies Act

.

Documentation and Reporting:

Prepare and/or review audit documentation (workpapers) to ensure sufficient and appropriate audit evidence is obtained. Identify, document, and assess potential

audit misstatements

or issues, and communicate these findings to senior team members. Assist in the preparation of

unaudited or audited financial statements

in compliance with

Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS)

.

Team and Client Management:

Work closely with Senior Associates and Managers, keeping them informed of significant developments and progress.

Liaise with clients

to coordinate audit timelines, request documentation, and follow up on queries. May assist in administrative tasks related to the audit engagement setup and close-out.
Required Qualifications and Attributes

Education:

A Degree in

Accountancy

or an equivalent professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, or in progress of obtaining the Chartered Accountant of Singapore qualification).

Experience:

For an entry-level Associate,

no prior experience

, or up to

1 year

of relevant experience.

Knowledge:

Sound knowledge of

Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS)

and basic

accounting principles

. Familiarity with

Singapore Standards on Auditing (SSA)

is essential.

Skills:

Analytical Thinking

and a meticulous attention to detail. Proficiency in

MS Office applications

, especially

MS Excel

Salary Information

The starting monthly salary for an Audit Associate generally falls in the range of

S$2,800 to S$3,500

, and the individual's qualifications.
