The Role Responsibilities Act as liaison with Management to ensure full understanding of business strategy, plans, products, performance, and risk-related issues at business unit level and communicating these to the relevant Functional Team members Perform, support, lead or manage where directed, the planning, fieldwork, and reporting of internal audit engagements to deliver agreed assurance objectives to established standards and timelines Perform regular risk assessment and continuous monitoring activities for areas of responsibility Provide non-assurance services to business units where required, through participation on advisory engagements / special projects within the Group Where undertaking the role of Team Leader / Manager, provide interim performance feedback to team members Share knowledge, skills, and experience with team members to guide and assist in their development Identify and escalate significant issues Our Ideal Candidate 5+ years of work experience in banking industry with a risk and controls focus. 5+ years of Experience in external auditor / internal auditor, risk professional or business practitioner who has subject matter expertise in Wealth Management business. Strong interest and desire to learn about most recent WM developments. Ability to think strategically and participate in building a future dynamic audit model where the audit function too applies an Agile approach. Background in auditing Wealth Management within a financial institution is a strong plus. Candidates without prior audit experience but with strong domain expertise in all aspects of Wealth Management will also be considered Prior experience and track record of project management, team leading, and interacting with senior management is recommended. Demonstrating sound judgement and sensitivity to deal with cultural and geographic diversity is essential. Articulate and effective communicator, both orally and in writing. Be able to objectively summarize and draw out key themes and risks for management attention. Comfortable with data-based auditing. Ability to bring in external knowledge on the use of data analytics will be an advantage. Be self-motivated and able to function independently. Should have a collaborative approach and be a team player and be able to role model core values of Standard Chartered. Accounting / Audit qualification is strongly preferred (including e.g., ACA, ACCA, IIA, CA, CPA). Ability to commit to travel across the Bank's CPBB footprint. While the preferred location is Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan, other locations will be considered for suitable internal candidates.
