Position Summary:

As Illumina Singapore leads the charge in the next industrial revolution, our Automation team plays a crucial role in supporting successful product launches and driving process improvement and optimization across various Centers of Excellence. We are seeking talented and passionate Software Engineers who are dedicated to continuous growth, eager to expand their horizons, and committed to delivering excellence in software development.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with vendors and internal teams to develop and deliver highly customized software solutions, ensuring impeccable standards of automated operations for high-volume production in Singapore.
  • Work in tandem with subject matter experts and team members to verify, standardize, and implement software modeling standards in accordance with the software requirements for new equipment.
  • Actively participate in equipment buy-off and qualification processes, contributing to the successful deployment of cutting-edge technologies.
  • Collaborate with system teams to seamlessly transfer data between equipment layers, including Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), and Data Acquisition Systems, ensuring efficient and accurate information flow.
  • Engage with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to align and define software requirements, ensuring clarity and effective communication throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to project timelines and deliverables, proactively monitoring and meeting software-related milestones to ensure timely project completion.
  • Foster strong collaborations with representatives from various project functions, including Project Management, Software Development, Design, Validation, Process, Manufacturing, and Quality, to drive cross-functional success.
  • Provide expert support in verifying and validating requirements against as-built equipment, leveraging deep technical knowledge and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Actively participate in Commissioning activities, such as Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), playing a vital role in the equipment buy-off process.
  • Contribute to Qualification activities, including Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ), to ensure equipment release meets stringent quality standards.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated proficiency in C# and SQL programming languages, showcasing a mastery of software development principles and best practices.
  • Exceptional competence in Microsoft Office applications and extensive experience in system administration of Microsoft Operating Systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of 21CFR Part 11 compliance and a strong commitment to data integrity and security.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), demonstrating proficiency across all stages, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
  • Proven track record in crafting precise and comprehensive technical requirements, translating complex business needs into actionable software specifications.
  • Extensive experience in software testing, including Unit Testing, Integration Testing, and System Testing, as well as expertise in verification during system commissioning (FAT and SAT) and qualification (IQ, OQ, and PQ).
  • Strong familiarity with electromechanical controls, PLC (preferably Beckhoff or Siemens), vision systems, RFID, and articulated robots, showcasing a breadth of technical expertise.
  • Solid experience in standardization of software and modularization, enabling scalable and maintainable solutions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and convey complex technical concepts with clarity.
  • A continuous learner with a proactive mindset, eager to explore new technologies and stay up-to-date with industry trends.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, coupled with a passion for deep diving into data and problem-solving.
  • Capable of executing tasks independently, while also seeking guidance from project leads or managers when necessary.
Education:
  • Requires a Bachelor\'s, Master\'s, or PhD degree in engineering or science.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related working experience, demonstrating a successful track record in software engineering.
