Job Description


Roles and Responsibilities:
People Management

  • - Lead, motivate and manage a team of auditors when leading audit engagements to ensure they have sufficient knowledge, skills and experience to execute and complete the audit engagement within the scheduled timeline.
  • Support the guest auditor program in providing learning opportunities for guest auditors to better understand audit requirements and process as well as strengthen their risk awareness and control consciousness; and conversely to encourage the guest auditors to contribute business perspectives and practical balanced approaches to OCBC\'s auditing process.
  • Lead by example by modelling bank desired behaviours, so that team members are inspired to do the same.
  • Champion a prudent risk and compliance culture that promotes good ethics, accountability and good conduct among colleagues.
Deliverables Management
  • Provide inputs to department head and senior audit managers in the formulation and the revision, where relevant, of the annual audit plan for Treasury and Investment Banking, using an appropriate risk-based audit methodology and including the key risks and emerging requirements associated with the Banking Group\'s corporate strategy, business model and activities, and operating environment.
  • Support the execution of the audit plan and ensure audit engagements are managed within budget, and the timely reporting of the status and results of executing the audit plan. This includes providing audit support to other audit departments in auditing the Treasury and Investment Banking activities in overseas subsidiaries and branches.
  • Support the provision of consulting or advisory service (for example special reviews at the request of Senior Management or regulators) where the objective is to add value and improve the governance, risk management and control processes of the Banking Group without Group Audit assuming management responsibility.
Stakeholders Management
  • - Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support the department in the periodic reporting to various stakeholders (e.g. the Audit Committee, Group CEO, regulators) the results of audit activities, emerging risk themes/focus (e.g. culture/conduct related), the progress in execution of audit plan and status of meeting key performance indicators.
  • Support the department head in coordinating and working with external auditor to ensure comprehensive audit coverage.
Qualifications
Requirements:
  • A good degree with at least 5-8 years of experience auditing treasury front office, back office, risk management, product control and regulatory compliance
  • Holder of professional qualifications, such as CIA, CPA, CFS, FRM, is preferred
  • A good financial quantitative background and good knowledge of financial instruments, including derivatives and the regulations
  • Strong acumen in risk management and controls
  • Good report writing and presentation skills
  • Open to travel (20% of the time)
