Role Overview

The Data and Business Analyst plays a key role in discovering and designing the data pipeline that the next generation frontline application needs to use to display data for end users when servicing their customers. The individual is responsible for providing technical and analytical support in the creation of data assets for analytics projects through extracting, wrangling and troubleshooting datasets.

Responsibilities * Identify, profile, analyse and present the data discovery output for every new requests

• Work with in-house data platform (ADA) and work closely with the data engineers to design the data ingestion pipeline and data assets required
• Execute queries on database, wrangle with data and develop sound logic to create desire data assets
• Problem-solve computational and analytical challenges by investigating the data, understanding the root causes, and coming up with alternative measurement strategies
• Perform regular audits and improvements to data systems and datasets to ensure complete and accurate reporting
• Provide analysis support to the SRE team for investigation of Production related issues

Work Relationship * Direct Reporting to Data Platform Lead

• Work closely with the Data Governance & Architecture squad, and other squads within the Analytics function
• System owners and tech platform working teams
• Potentially other working teams across functions within the department in cross-collaborative analytical projects

Requirements

Excellent knowledge of Python & SQL

Knowledge in Python - proficient in data wrangling, transformation, analysis and data validation

Knowledge in Spark advantageous

Knowledge in Qlikview/Tableau is advantageous

Familiarity with the following tools is advantageous: Cloudera Data Science Workbench, Airflow, Presto, Superset, S3, JIRA * Business knowledge in the consumer banking area beneficial

• Related experience in transforming data and creating data assets is a must
• Related experience in process improvements, project management and leading change management would be an advantage
