Plan, design, and execute a developmentally appropriate training programme for students of varying skill levels (beginner to advanced).
Instruct and develop students in key badminton techniques, including footwork, strokes, serves, smashes, and tactical play.
Teach and reinforce knowledge of the rules, safety, and strategies of the game.
Prepare students for inter-school competitions such as the National School Games and friendly matches with other schools.
Foster sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, resilience, and school values through training and participation.
Conduct physical conditioning and ensure proper warm-ups, cool-downs, and injury prevention measures.
Collaborate with teachers-in-charge to review training plans, arrange matches, and track student progress.
Lead and guide students during tournaments, camps, and other milestone events.
Provide timely feedback on student performance and maintain records of training attendance and outcomes.
Deliver online/e-CCA sessions when in-person activities are suspended, ensuring continuity of meaningful student engagement.
WORKING HOURS
Estimated Training Sessions
: 40-150 sessions annually (varies by school level and programme).
Training Duration:
1.5 to 3 hours per session, excluding public holidays, school holidays, and exam stand-down periods.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Registered with the
Ministry of Education (MOE) as a CCA Physical Sports Instructor
.
Valid
First Aid certification with CPR and AED
(overseas licenses must be validated by the National Resuscitation and First Aid Council).
Preferably registered with the
National Registry of Coaches (NROC)
for Badminton.
Minimum
SG-Coach Level 1 (Theory/Technical)
certification or equivalent (higher-level certifications advantageous).
Relevant coaching experience:
o
Main Instructor:
At least 3 years' coaching experience, preferably with youths (ages 13-17 for
secondary or 7-12 for primary).
o
Assistant/Second Instructor:
At least 1 year of coaching experience.
Proven track record in leading school or youth teams to zonal or national competitions is an advantage.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop students' character.
Ability to work closely with teachers, parents, and school administration.
Must be able to communicate and instruct effectively in
English
.
