As a Barclays Internal Audit (BIA) Assistant Vice President (AVP), this is an exciting opportunity where you have a chance to work collaboratively with others in BIA, to develop exceptional independent client relationships and to be a respected voice. You will take ownership for delivery of audits/assignments to a high standard in line with audit methodology and to support delivery of the BIA Audit Plan.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month, or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally can request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances. What will you be doing?

• Supporting the Audit Owner in scoping the audit where necessary
• Identifying, assessing & documenting risks and controls as and when required
• You will be conducting and ensuring complete testing process
• Evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of controls & document this understanding in the BIA audit toolkit
• Updating the Audit Owner and audit team with progress and observations
• Writing high quality audit observations and support the Audit Owner in writing the report
• Providing suggestions to management for actions to address control issues identified.
• Being proactive in taking on additional tasks as requested by Vice Presidents/Directors/Managing Directors.
• Suggesting practical ways of improving the work they do and apply where appropriate

What weaAEURA(TM)re looking for:

• Experienced in auditing Corporate Banking and/ or Markets, e.g. FICC and Equities businesses
• Good understanding of application controls and Data Analytical techniques;
• Proven track record of high performance in previous roles;
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Relevant professional qualifications, e.g. CIA, ACCA, CISA, for audit roles
• Prior experience in Corporate Banking and/or Markets Audit.
