On behalf of one of its clients, in the Environment field, the French Chamber of Commerce is looking for a Biochar Carbon Removal Project Developer intern.
As a project developer intern, you will work closely with the Founders Team and Head of supply. You will support on operational aspects of biochar carbon removal projects. Your responsibilities will include ensuring efficient support to clients in building a strong supply of Carbon Removal Certificates.
The key responsibilities of the Supply lead are:
- Prepare project documentation, including project plans, project design documents, and data collection and monitoring plans.
- Manage project operations, ensuring compliance with processes, standards, and methodologies.
- Optimise project design and boundaries, select the best standards and methodology
- Organise training programs for implementing partners.
- Collect and monitor data from projects.
- Develop guidance and learning content materials to support customers and stakeholders.
- Perform project techno-economic assessment, including feedstocks, technology and economics
- Contribute to further develop the client\'s Artisanal Biochar Production project processes
- Responsible to a watch study and identify methodologies and standards to report on environmental and social impact as well as SGDs
- Contribute to the develop a reporting tool to display our client\'s projects impacts related to SDGs
Requirements
- Master Degree candidate in Sustainability, Climate change or Carbon mitigation field. Gap year from Engineering school or university is accepted
- Deep understanding of Biochar Carbon Removal Standards (Puro.Earth, Verified Carbon Standard, EBC) and previous experience in Carbon Credits or Carbon accounting / LCA is preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluent English, excellent Oral and written skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-changing organisation.
- Strong project management skills.
- Execution-oriented with the ability to manage multiple, complex projects.
- Passionate about sustainability, fighting against the climate crisis, and improving people\'s lives.
- 6 months internship, starts in January 2024.
