Role Overview
We are seeking a highly driven
Bioinformatics Scientist / Engineer
to join our team. This role bridges applied bioinformatics, molecular genomics, and molecular diagnostics, with real-world impact on food safety and consumer trust.Key Responsibilities
Analyse microbial genomes, identify clusters/patterns and unique DNA sequences. Develop qPCR result validation frameworks according to ISO standards for data QC, confidence scoring, and trend monitoring. Interpret molecular results and develop bioinformatics pipelines. Integrate detection outputs onto Natural Trace's digital platform. Participate in shaping and deployment of Natural Trace's digital platform capabilities to customers.
Qualifications
Minimally Bachelor's in Bioinformatics or related disciplines. 3 - 5 years' experience in biotech or foodtech. Proficiency in using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) for code generation, data analysis, and problem-solving, with an understanding of responsible and efficient AI use in a scientific context Strong Python programming skills are essential; experience with R and/or other programming languages a plus but not required. Detail-oriented with strong scientific documentation practices. Creative, highly motivated and be able to work independently, with good verbal and interpersonal skills.
