Bloomberg runs on data, and in Data, we're responsible for on-boarding, analyzing, and supplying it to our clients for their financial data needs. Across the Broker and Company Disclosed data teams, we move markets by providing our clients with sought-after, reported-on, and broker-estimated financials that are normalized across companies, key analytical ratios, and industry-specific data points. More than 320,000 business leaders rely on the real-time financial information available on the Bloomberg Professional Service. Our products run on intelligence and industry-specific insight provided by Data's Company Financials team. Our team of Analysts influence investment decisions and move the markets every day, and we are growing.

The Team:
The Broker and Company Disclosed data teams are responsible for managing estimate consensus data and company actual data for key performance indicators and critical financial metrics for a global universe of companies. This is done by aggregating, normalizing, and standardizing each measure contributed from sell-side broker analysts from various financial firms, such as Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan, and Barclays, as well as reported by the company. This group uses technology to acquire and extract content across sources, ensuring complete and accurate data. Overall, this aggregated, cleansed, and normalized data fuels News generation, Enterprise Product creation, and Terminal functions like MODL .

The Role:
Company Financials (CoFi) vendor management team is looking for a business intelligence analyst with an outstanding combination of technical skills, intuition for business, as well as good communication and interpersonal skills. We're looking for a well-rounded business analyst with a highly analytical mind who is passionate about telling stories using data. We use data from diverse sources to fuel practical analytics that drive decision-making across global CoFi vendor operations.

We'll trust you to:

  • Lead global projects for operational analytics, business performance management, and accuracy/coverage/timeliness reporting for CoFi vendor management team
  • Showcase subject-matter expertise in organizational business intelligence
  • Engage with internal partners to understand business needs and define requirements, performing data profiling and data analysis to drive decision making
  • Partner with Product and Engineering counterparts, providing clear prioritization, defining return on investment, and collaborating on technical solutions
  • Deliver both operational (internal, data management) analytical insights and visualizations
  • Act as an internal consultant, interpreting business needs into data and analytical solutions
  • Champion organizational change around business intelligence, through standard practises and training
  • Continue learning about industry trends, standards, and innovation within the business intelligence data management domain
  • Work alongside senior management across the organization to meet product needs and solve complex problems
You'll need to have:
  • 2+ years of data management experience in the financial services industry, including exchanges, index, market data providers or financial institutions
  • Minimum 1 year of demonstrated experience in data analysis or data visualization with the ability to tell a story and propose solutions
  • Experience in using SQL and Python
  • Demonstrated experience in the financial markets, data management, data governance, and quality assurance practices
  • Strong project management skills and proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated experience in finding technical solutions and comfortable discussing technical concepts and experience evaluating trade-offs in design with Engineering
  • Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
  • Comfort with a high degree of autonomy, and shown ability in managing priorities from multiple internal and external partners
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
We'd love to see:
  • Experience using a Scrum Agile process
  • Familiarity with MATLAB, Regex, Qlik Sense, Power BI, or Tableau
