We are currently seeking an Inventory Controller, reporting to the Financial Controller to join our dynamic team in Singapore to be responsible for the management of Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand inventories.

How you will contribute:

Inventory Control (70%)

  • Liaise with Merchandising, Stores & 3rd party warehouses to ensure smooth inventory movement, accurate inventory records and investigate on stock discrepancies in compliance with the company procedures.
  • Perform stock receive with warehouse/stores through auto receiving at JDA (Inventory) system and post the transactions in JDE (Accounting) system.
  • Ensure stock alignment between Inventory System (JDA) to Accounting system (JDE). Set monthly cycle count calendar by store, check and ensure the count is performed by store, attend these sessions and work with stores to investigate root causes of inventory variances and develop corrective actions to eliminate recurrence.
  • Main contact point for all stock transfers and adjustments. Act as a gatekeeper to check and ensure all documents (e.g.: Stock write-off form) are in order and with proper approvals prior to execution of any stock transfer.
  • Put controls in place to ensure inventory is accurately accounted for.
  • Flag out risks and opportunities on the inventory level. Ensure inventory is kept at a healthy level and be able to highlight slow-moving items and propose action plans.
  • Organize yearly trips to non-merchandise warehouses with budget owners for housekeeping purposes. Make sure we do not take up unnecessary storage space. Hence avoiding paying unnecessary storage fees.
  • Actively implement best practices to enhance and continuously improve the design and operating effectiveness of the controls, documentation and assessment.
  • Issue proforma invoices for inter-company merchandise transfers.
  • Monitor and control sensitive transactions including sales deposits, price overrides, discounts and voids. Work closely with relevant functions to strengthen internal control processes.
  • Organize inventory control-related training and coaching activities for both existing as well as newly onboarded retail operations and store staff.
Finance / Internal Control & Compliance (30%)
  • Perform month end closing for inventory in JDA and JDE, completion of Sales and Margins report and GAS system.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of margins (affected by markdown, shrinkage and damage) in monthly actual reporting and be able to provide qualitative explanation on variances between periods.
  • Prepare and analyse inventory reports. Provide insights on inventory quality and coverage, variances in inventory level between periods.
  • Assist Financial Controller with monthly reportings.
  • Actively involved in budget and forecast process (eg: Sales and Margin files, warehouse cost and other tasks)
  • Liaise with external auditor on year end audit stock take and assist in the audit process by providing all necessary reports, reconciliations and answer to queries.
  • Make sure yearly warehouse actual costs are in line with latest budget / forecasts. Early detection of potential year-to-date actual costs overrun must be highlighted to financial controller ASAP and find solutions to mitigate during year-to-go.
  • Any other ad-hoc assignment and projects.
Who you are:
  • At least 3 -5 years experience in inventory management; Luxury and Fast Moving Big Volume retail background preferred
  • Diploma in Logistics/Supply Chain Management
  • Prior experience in JD Edwards (inventory) within the retail environment will be an advantage
  • Self-starter with high degree of initiative and independence but also able to work with cross-functional teams and various levels within Kering Group
  • High level of accuracy, able to detect inconsistencies and errors
  • Action oriented, works with a sense of urgency and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in MS office application (Word, Excel)
