About the Role
Would you like to take on an exciting opportunity leading the management oversight responsibility of the branch operating platform across various aspects of the reinsurance business in Singapore (SRAL).
This position will require experienced leadership to coach and steer a team, balancing the required skill sets to deliver as Business Partner for the Singapore Location Head on legal entity management and operational excellence.

As a key contributor you will be required to oversee the big picture and at the same time rolling up your sleeves to work with the team.
This position takes the Lead on Business Contingency risks across the location including Business Continuity Management, Cyber Security and Operational IT Governance matters.
Strategy & Operations supports numerous areas of the business so you should be comfortable driving solutions with insurance business and subject matter experts and bring in your expertise to contribute to the overall success of a regional operating model.
This opportunity will require you to closely collaborate across various seniority levels with numerous business teams, at a local level as well as regional level.
You will have a great can-do attitude and become a trusted partner on strategy, branch operations and governance related matters.
As part of the Strategy & Operations team, you will be involved in the strategy implementation and preparation work, supporting the local client market team and the Head of Regional

Branch Operations.
The key accountabilities are:

  • As a line manager, coach/mentor you will lead and develop the Singapore Branch Operations Team
  • Own and manage relationships with key stakeholders across the business including support functions
  • Active member of SRAL Branch Management Committee (SGWG), in line with Asia Branch Governance Framework
  • Drive best practice, challenge the status quo, leading any agreed transformation collaborating with Business SME on selected business and operational

Strategy & Operations Asia is a team of out-of-the-box problem solvers, who are responsible for a wide and diverse range of topics. We provide and improve the platform for the Asia Region, by facilitating connections across functions, teams and initiatives. We enjoy navigating ambiguity to develop new content to address strategic opportunities and challenges. Team members need to be highly motivated to work both autonomously and with diverse partners across the region and globally.
Our team members are located all over Asia, with a focus on our two regional hubs Singapore and Hong Kong.

About You
  • Leadership: capability in a complex matrix organisation, able to build relationships and apply leadership 'authority' in a wider sense, not limited to direct reporting lines;
  • Managing / influencing partners: Strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively across functions/seniority;
  • Strategic and Analytics Mastermind: Big picture, structured and analytical mind as well as an exceptional problem solver;
  • Governance / Operations knowledge: Solid experience (5+) of these two topics in the context of the Re-/Insurance industry, and how to apply regulatory guidelines;
  • Delivery Champ: Substantial work experience in operations or transformation execution, e.g. project and organisational change experience is a plus;
  • Story telling: Proficient in conveying messages to all levels of management seniority, including creation of presentations in PowerPoint;
  • You can inspire those around you by being a strong coach, motivator and mentor and are passionate about the career path and success of the team; and
  • You enjoy team collaboration and contributing to the broader team on local and global business initiatives.
