About the Role:
Brighton College (Singapore) is seeking an inspirational Head of Futures (University and Careers Guidance) to join our expanding school community from August 2026. This is an exceptional opportunity to establish and lead the Futures Programme as Brighton College (Singapore) grows from a first-class Prep School into one of the region's leading all-through schools, offering education from Pre-Nursery to Year 13.
What you will be doing:
Lead all aspects of university and careers guidance across the Senior School, ensuring pupils in Years 12 and 13 receive expert, personalised support for higher education and career planning.
Design, implement and oversee a comprehensive Futures programme, including university applications (UCAS and global), careers guidance, work experience and enrichment opportunities.
Provide individualised support for pupils applying to universities worldwide, including Oxbridge, Ivy League, and other top global institutions, ensuring high-quality personal statements, references and interview preparation.
Coordinate the UCAS and global university application process, including admissions testing, recommendation writing and university liaison.
Expand and maintain links with external organisations, universities, employers, and alumni networks to enhance opportunities for pupils' higher education, internships and future careers.
Deliver workshops, seminars and guidance sessions to Key Stage 4 and 5 pupils on careers exploration, higher education pathways, personal development and employability skills.
Develop and maintain resources and programmes to support pupils in making informed decisions about their future education and career paths.
Collaborate with the Head of Sixth Form, Senior Leadership Team, Heads of Department, and Sixth Form Tutors to ensure university and careers guidance is integrated with academic planning and personal development.
Work closely with the Heads of EAL and AEN to provide tailored guidance for pupils with diverse learning needs, ensuring all pupils can access opportunities for higher education and careers.
Organise and support events such as university fairs, employer visits, alumni talks and careers workshops to broaden pupils' awareness of options and opportunities.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding university and career guidance, keeping them informed about progress, deadlines and next steps.
Contribute to the school's safeguarding and pastoral systems in the context of Sixth Form guidance, ensuring pupils are supported appropriately.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice within university and careers guidance.
Undertake any other reasonable management requests in support of the school's mission, vision, and values.
Who we are looking for:
Bachelor's degree, with PGCE or equivalent.
Expert knowledge or experience of successfully delivering GCSEs/IGCSEs and A-level.
Proven track record of middle leadership.
International school experience (preferred).
Superb writing and speaking abilities.
