The SEA Build and Test team is responsible for supporting the development of Dyson products by producing prototypes and performing verification & test activities related to both software and hardware for all product categories.

About the role

Whether you join us for an Industrial Training or a 3 month summer internship, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be assigned to a project team from day one. Depending on your skills and experiences you could be contributing towards the production of prototypes that will be used for developing and verification of Dyson products across all categories. Some of your tasks could include:

• Produce prototyping parts as part of product development across all Dyson categories
• Integration and assembly of prototyping parts into a working prototype
• Process improvements, targeting build efficiency and quality of parts produced
• Development of new materials for additive manufacturing
• Solving engineering challenges to create better, faster, more cost-effective solutions for Dyson\xe2\x80\x99s unique products

You\xe2\x80\x99ll also be interacting with teams across Research, Design & Development (RDD) including product developers

About you

Working at the forefront of technology is tough so standards and expectations are high. You\xe2\x80\x99ll be contributing to live projects from the start so you\xe2\x80\x99ll need to be curious, hungry to learn and ready to get stuck in. But it\xe2\x80\x99s not just about technical expertise. You\xe2\x80\x99ll need to be:

• Studying towards a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Industrial Design, Process, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Mechatronics or related disciplines
• In your penultimate year and able to commit full-time for at least 12 weeks
• Graduating by Q3 2024
• Familiar with traditional manufacturing processes (machining, injection moulding, forming and other related disciplines).
• Good foundation and knowledge of materials and their properties
• Beneficial to have: Basic understanding in the field of Additive Manufacturing
• Have a creative approach to problem solving to ensure processes are lean and high-quality prototypes are produced
• Be able to thrive in Dyson\xe2\x80\x99s fast-paced environment
• Above all, you\xe2\x80\x99ll want to play a key part in bringing the next generation of Dyson technology to the world.
• Able to give evidence how you have applied your technical knowledge to solve problems, either through your university projects or as part of your co-curricular activities
