Job Description

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in data analysis, modeling, SQL, and presentations.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in project management and process optimization with data analytics.
  • Experience in the extracting, sampling, and visualization of large data sets.
  • Experience writing and maintaining ETLs which operate on a variety of structured and unstructured sources.
  • Experience delivering production-level metrics, insights, and actions.
  • Familiar with abuse prevention, policy, and regulatory systems.

As a Business Analyst, you will utilize data and analytical techniques to define success metrics for YouTube Trust and Safety operations, measure business performance, and communicate narratives to executives and the outside world. You will work with business partners to understand data needs, write, extract, transform, and load (ETL) scripts and collaborate with other internal teams. In this role, the Business Analyst will enable efficient, high quality, and precise operations to protect our global platform and users. Responsibilities

  • Develop, build, and measure performance on operational metrics (e.g., productivity, service level agreement, quality, appeals, cost, efficiency, and timeliness) and generate insights to improve the efficiency of our operations.

  • Understand user impact of policies, become an expert in what moves metrics, and conduct detailed analyses that result in actionable insights to enhance user experience on the platform.

  • Run ongoing and ad-hoc analyses in support of site-wide Trust and Safety objectives as well as operational effectiveness and incident response.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Legal, Public Relations, and Product Management teams to craft a convincing narrative to policy makers, executives, governments, and more based on a methodical and data-driven approach.
  • Partner with Data Science and Strategy teams to prioritize and execute sophisticated quantitative analyses and advanced modeling that deliver actionable insights.
