Business Development Director (FMCG - Beverage)


The role requires a combination of strategic thinking, leadership abilities, and hands-on sales expertise to help drive a company's growth and profitability.

1. Strategic Planning & Market Analysis



Develop long-term growth strategies and objectives for the business. Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes to identify new opportunities.

2. Lead Generation & Sales



Identify, prospect, and convert new business opportunities across various sectors. Build and manage a pipeline of potential clients and projects. Collaborate with the sales team to generate leads, create proposals, and close deals. Develop pricing strategies and negotiate contracts.

3. Relationship Management



Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders. Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote the company and build brand awareness. Manage and enhance existing client relationships to increase customer retention and maximize revenue.

4. Team Leadership & Collaboration



Lead and mentor a team of business development managers or specialists. Work closely with the marketing, sales, product, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of business initiatives. Set performance metrics, track team progress, and adjust strategies as needed.

5. Budgeting & Financial Oversight



Manage the business development budget and allocate resources effectively. Monitor business development expenses and ensure activities stay within budget while maximizing ROI. Forecast and track revenue targets, adjusting strategies to meet financial goals.

6. Innovation & Business Strategy



Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and evolving business practices. Refine the company's overall business strategy. Advocate for innovative solutions and creative business models to help the company stay competitive in the market.

Skills & Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience in sales and marketing, preferably in FMCG. Capacity to manage various projects and work to tight deadlines. Excellent negotiation and leadership skills. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams. Well-organised with excellent timeline management skills. Analytical mindset with an ability to interpret market data and translate it into actionable strategies. * Extensive experience in Direct sales, distibutor, or business development.
