Job description (BD Manager) Key Products Segments include Marble, Stone, Tiles, Sanitaryware, and Building Materials. The ideal candidate for all or certain segments will lead initiatives to identify new opportunities, engage and secure projects with existing and new business partners to grow the business for the company. There may also be, from time to time, retail sales to be conducted. The candidate may also be experienced in managing and sourcing the respective supply of quality building materials and related products, be very product focused and have strong technical and communication skills. Candidates should be able to think critically when making plans on how to grow respective businesses and demonstrate ability to execute challenging strategic growth plans. The candidate will report to the Sales and Marketing Director. Responsibilities
Grow the company profitably which may include new business models, online marketing, fulfilment and harnessing new technologies.
Identify new partnership opportunities while strengthening existing ones
Develop new customer and professional relationships so as to grow business and help company expand locally and/or to selective cities.
Establish substantial project pipelines, work out the project inquiries and quotations with the salespeople and factories to ensure all pending commercial and technical clarifications are cleared.
Seek / lead project opportunities and cultivate project life-cycle elements eg. training, risk consultancy, after-sales programs.
Support the marketing team on webinars, social media (Linkedin), conferences and exhibitions for the content and presentation.
Manage Product Offerings strategically focusing on appropriate target market segments.
Research the market, understand customer requirements and analyse trends.
Assist in preparing weekly and monthly reports and presentations to update management in the sales progress.
Take advantage of historical strengths of existing business and find ways to grow the business.
Think critically during planning to assume sustainable growth in profitability.
Provide product training to junior/other colleagues, when necessary.
Qualifications
Diploma or equivalent
Experience in sales and projects
Experience in managing and sourcing the supply of quality building materials is an added advantage
2 - 4 years\' industry related business relationships and development experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proven knowledge and execution of successful business development strategies
